About the Author
Claire Montgomerie is a British textile designer specializing in knitting and crochet. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, she has designed her own range of knitted accessories, toys, and garments called Monty. She has also created for the US fashion market, made knitwear for film costumes, and knitted characters for music videos and animations. Currently teaching textiles at Barnet College, Hertfordshire, she runs knitting classes at Loop, the London knitting emporium. She is the author of Easy Baby Knits (Ryland Peters & Small), Knitter's Yarn Palette (Reader's Digest), and Knitting Vintage (Carlton). Claire lives in London.

The inspired bobble bag looks like something a tween would wear

The book has many inspirational styles but only a few of them are clothing or accessories that I actually see myself wear. Every project is supposedly inspired by a run-way model outfit or celebrities outfits. Although some of the inspired patterns are very well crafted, many just made you wished you have the pattern to make the one the run-way model or celebrity is actually wearing. Case in point, the bobble bag pattern inspired by a bag wore by Angelina Jolie on page 79. The inspired bobble bag looks like something a tween would wear. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed with the patterns in the book.
Also, please note that the book is written in UK crochet lingo. The equivalency chart on page 11 is not very well presented. The author should have use equal signs instead of side by side chart.
My first project was the chain shoulder bag and I got confuse really quickly by round 2 of the pattern. The stitches do not add up correctly with the instruction provided. I am not a beginner crocheter and I was stump. I ended up taking a creative license and do it the way I see fit.
I also didn't like the writing style of the patterns. I prefer it writing each step out.
But overall, I gave it a 3 stars because the book has beautiful photographs and 30 crochet projects.

Fresh, Creative Projects

This book provides patterns that adapt "high fashion runway garments" for home crochet. The patterns are attractive and the directions are clear. A lot of the styles are quite youthful. I like the skirt ideas, but will be making mine a good deal longer :-) If you are a Project Runway fan, this will be right up your alley. I really enjoy the encouragement this collection gives you to take a given pattern and experiment with it.

Very nice, new designs for younger women. If you're looking for something different, you'll enjoy the runway inspired designs in this book.
