Come eat the full stew of meat, potatoes , vegetables and a juicy sauce!

This book is sorely needed in this day. So many people I encounter have no idea how to walk in the Spirit. They have no idea how to be led by the Holy Spirit each day. This is not just bones and some flesh. This is meat and potatoes, vegetables and a nice sauce. Roberts starts slow and builds a foundation. Chapter upon chapter, laying the groundwork. When I read the contents in the blurb I bought the Kindle edition and wanted to go to the table of contents and skip to the exciting parts. But Roberts doesn't have a table of contents in the book I have, and so I couldn't skip forward to the juicy parts, so I started from the beginning and now see the wisdom of his choice.
Don't skip ahead. Let the vegetables be prepared and cut up, before you add the meat and the sauce. Take this book how it is written, layer upon layer, precept upon precept. This book will surely bless you and teach you a thing or two so that you also can walk int he Spirit.

Solid stuff, could be more practical

If I were to give a bible training to new believers and I wanted to give them a sound and solid foundation for their christian walk, this book would form an excellent textbook.
It shows how many christians still walk in Old Covenant ways by relying on prophecies and other people's gifts, instead of hearing God for themselves. It talks about how God wants to speak to you personally and about the need for us to be led by the Spirit of God. It shows the difference between the soul and spirit and why failure to recognise this will hinder spiritual growth.
It contains a lot warnings so you won't be sidetracked by false visions etc.
The one thing I do miss in this book is explicit examples of HOW you do the walk. Most of the times it will warn you that you shouldn't do this and this, but it often won't actually teach in a practical way how you SHOULD do it besides some general remarks.
For example: It will just say "use your spiritual authority", without explaining HOW to do that. It will talk about visions and dreams, without learning you how to discern them or how you can learn to become sensitive to them.
I also have some reservation about the use of the term "hungering for God". Jesus said that if we receive his Life we will never hunger and thirst again. Yet many christians always talk like God is a bad Father Who will never show up unless we beg and plead. That is not how Jesus prayed and demonstrated how a son of God walks. This terminology can lead to an Old Covenant type of relationship where we act like have no clue about the mind of God and we have to "twist Gods arm" for "breakthrough" or "revival".
Breakthrough and revival are already here for every son of God who walks in his identity as son of God.
What we talk about is seal and passion for the things of God. That's better terminology imho.
But all in all, solid and good stuff.
