This book opened an entire new world to me!

This book opened an entire new world to me! Fred does an excellent job of making a case for investing in scarce resources that WILL go up--gold, silver, oil, etc. Then he shows step by step how to find absolute rock bottom bargains on oil, silver, gold, and other stocks. This is not your run of the mill book.

My favorite discussion in the book is on penny mining stocks. These are stocks that give you incredible leverage because they cost anywhere from .05+ a piece. Not only do you get leverage but you also make enormous sums if these stocks go up even a few cents. And the risk is minimum because you can buy a ton of stock when their price is so low.

Not only was the book an excellent read but it also entirely and permanently opened up a new world to me. It changed my paradigm completely! Out of all the books on investing I have read (I read 1 or 2 a month and have been doing so for some time), this is one of the top two I have read!

FORTY YEARS A SPECULATOR

Fred Carach speaks from the weight of experience gained from the
school of hard knocks. As a futures and options trader myself with
twenty years in the industry, even from a brief reading it's readily
apparent that the author truly knows his craft -- the business of
small cap investing within the natural resource sector.

His trading style and philosophy are completely unorthodox (a big plus
point in my book). His views on technical analysis, stop-loss orders
and other conventional Wall Street wisdom surely would have him
condemned for heresy, however, I suspect the author would feel such a
charge be considered a badge of honour.

This book is full of common sense and a distillation of wonderful
investment stories. I can highly recommend it.

Fred Carach is not a momentum investor, nor a wall street Acolyte. He is a conviction value investor. He makes an excellent case for his style of dividend plays mixed with a salting of junior mining stocks. I was a momentum player myself, yet his damning account of trend chasing rang true with the results I have experienced.

His writings are full of experience, and original thought. Ranging from his view of a resource scarce world, to the down to earth high dividends of trusts and REITs. Leave the big player arena of the S&P500 to the mutual funds, learn to put the odds on your side, and learn what this real investor is made of.

I must have read over 80 books on stocks now, and yet this is the one that is my imprint for my investments to come.

This series is one you will read more than once.I have.I read so many books and most fall short but this one doesn't.The word for this book is AWESOME!!!
Once visited,Eternity Springs is a place you will want to visit again.Lover's Leap opens old wounds and restores faith in love.You will laugh and cry as the characters past and present unfold.Take the leap.Lover's Leap is well worth it.

Another Hit!

I have read all the Eternity Spring books and Lovers' Leap is a wonderful story. You will not be disappointed. The characters are well written the descriptions of the settings are so well written you feel as though you are there. This series is so good you want keep reading them over and over. I just love it when things work out the way they should, especially when the town "bad boy" is involved. My eyes have leaked a few times and I have laughed out loud while reading this touching story. Already waiting for the next book. I highly recommend reading this feel-good book to start off the New Year on a happy note.

Lover's Leap is a Joyfully Recommended Read

Twenty years ago Sarah Reece's heart was smashed into a million pieces as her baddie boyfriend was escorted out of town in handcuffs. Being arrested wasn't even the worst part. That happened when Sarah told Cameron Murphy she was pregnant and he told her, she and the baby were a big mistake. Sarah never quite got over Cam Murphy but she did her best to raise their wonderful daughter, Lori.

Sarah and Lori won a trip of a lifetime to Australia. Their tremendous vacation was going perfectly until they got the surprise of their lives. A surprise neither was ready for. Walking up on Cameron Murphy in the Land of Oz, seeing him with his son was too much for them. Sarah and Lori ran from their past straight home to the safety and security of Eternity Springs, Colorado.

Cameron Murphy has one major regret in life and that's leaving the woman he loves and their unborn child twenty years ago. Sarah has been in his dreams for years it's almost as if a mirage landed on his boat deck, but mirages don't often runaway. Seeing Sarah and his daughter Lori run from him is more painful than he can stand. Now that he has been confronted with his past he's not about to lose a chance at getting to know his daughter and see the woman he loves again.

It's time for Cameron Murphy to face all of his past. He will return to Eternity Springs and face the town and the people that shunned him for his bad Murphy blood. He will meet his daughter and hopefully mend fences with her and her beautiful mom. Cam longs for the family he's never had and it's about time he got it!

I'm gushing with love for Emily March's Lover's Leap! I swear I let out the biggest sigh of happiness as I finished Lover's Leap! After reading Hummingbird Lake and Heartache Falls I have been dying to read Sarah, Cam and Lori's story! I love everything about Eternity Springs and the people that reside there. As I crack open the book I feel like I'm revisiting family. The story starts with Sarah and Lori in Australia. I'm amazed that I found myself overwhelmed by emotions and brought to tears in the first twenty pages. Ms. March makes it impossible to not feel deeply for her characters.

I found Lover's Leap to be very inspirational. Sometimes you do have to "leap like a lunatic" in order to find happiness. Sarah and Cam have so many things to overcome: past mistakes, trust issues, and their fear. Oh, and let's not forget, a very pissed off daughter. One thing that really resonated with me is how choices affect lives. How the choices you make, and the people around you make, can affect your future; and how forgiveness is the answer even when it's hard to forgive. I truly feel for Sarah's struggle with her mom. Her mom's Alzheimer's is getting worse, it's painful to watch but oh so real. Sarah has all these tumultuous feelings regarding her mom but no outlet. Cam's past with the citizens of Eternity Springs is riddled with black spots. He is looked at as bad, not only because of his actions but the actions of his father. I love Cam's road to redemption in Lover's Leap. He is not the same boy that left town twenty years ago and it's time everyone knows it.

It may have been twenty years but the chemistry between Sarah and Cam is still burning bright. Their journey in Lover's Leap is filled with many trials and tribulations but all the difficulty is well worth finding love again. My favorite part is when Cam gives Sarah his own personal "hello". It is a magical moment. Reunions abound in Lover's Leap filling the story with hilarity, heartache, desire and love. There are a number of modern books on this terrible subject, but this work remains the place to start on this disaster at sea

This is the first book to describe, in as full detail as 1958 could allow, the horrific story of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis and the ghastly fate of its crew.

The short version: having delivered the atomic bomb to Tinian in summer 1945, USS Indianapolis steamed for the Philippines, unescorted. Late on June 30, she was torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine, killing 300 of her 1,200 men. The rest got into the water. There they floated for five days, broiling under the Pacific sun, suffering dehydration and salt-water poisoning, from their injuries and burns, going delusional from thirst, and being regularly attacked by sharks.

Incredibly, the US Navy did not know the Indianapolis was missing, as nonarrivals of combatant ships were not to be reported. Nobody would have known anyone was out there until a passing Army bomber, spotting oil slicks, swooped down to investigate, and found bobbing heads instead of a possible Japanese submarine. Only 300 men were pulled out of the water, including the cruiser's skipper, Capt. Charles Butler McVay III.

The tragedy was announced on V-J Day, probably to bury the horror in the victory, and the investigations that followed put the blame mostly on McVay. Incredibly, he became the only skipper of a US Navy ship sunk in combat to be court-martialed for losing his ship to enemy action. He was blamed for failing to get off an SOS and not issuing "Abandon Ship" orders in a timely manner. Not prosecuted were the shore-bound officers who did not notice that Indianapolis was missing for five days -- they never got court-martialed.

To make the December 1945 case more bizarre, the prosecution brought in as their star witness the commanding officer of the Japanese sub that sank Indianapolis, Mochitsura Hashimoto, who testified through an interpreter that it wouldn't have mattered if the heavy cruiser was zigzagging or not.

The trial ended with McVay convicted of failing to zigzag, but acquitted for failing to issue abandon ship orders. The court-martial authority recommended remitting the sentence on the basis of McVay's great war record. But McVay was the public face and scapegoat for the disaster.

The book was written in 1958, so there is much to it that has happened in this bizarre drama over the past 65 years. The most important follow-up was that McVay, unable to bear the weight of the sinking, shot himself on November 6, 1968, after years of receiving hate mail from relatives of sailors who died in the tragedy. After 1968, the sinking gained new fame when Robert Shaw described it eloquently in the 1975 smash hit movie "Jaws," becoming the best-known (and fictional) survivor of the horror. This in turn empowered survivors of the sinking and McVay's family to plead for restoration of the skipper's good name and clear his record. It would take a sixth-grader, Hunter Scott, to finally succeed, beginning in 1996 and finishing in 2001, forcing the Navy to do so -- and embarrassing a three-star admiral in the process.

None of this, however, detracts from the power and immediacy of Mr. Newcomb's work, which is the beginning of all accounts of this incredible tragedy. With the talent of a first-rate journalist, Mr. Newcomb describes the final voyage of the cruiser, its sinking, the crew's ordeal in the water, the incompetence on shore, and the bizarre hearings and court-martial that followed. He has a keen eye for detail and character, and the book even includes the Japanese side of the story.

About the Author
Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, LJ Ross graduated from King's College London with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law and continued her studies in Paris and Florence. After working in the City as a regulatory lawyer for a number of years, she realised it was high time for a change. The catalyst was the birth of her son, which forced her to take a break from the legal world and find time for some of the detective stories which had been percolating for a while and finally demanded to be written. She lives with her husband and young son in the south of England, but will always be a northern girl at heart. Her first book, "Holy Island", has consistently been listed as an Amazon bestseller since its release in January 2015 and hit the Amazon UK Kindle #1 position in May 2015. Yet another sequel

This could be a good series IF each book finished the story. Instead, Sycamore Gap was the sequel to Holy Island and the reader is still guessing who some of the bad guys are? A sequel to this book is in the works.

The plot is somewhat far fetched, about a large band of pagans hiding in plain sight in the local area. Here it is 6 months after the murders on Holy Island and Ryan doesn't seem to have solved any other cases. All the members of the Circle should have been arrested in Holy Island, and Ryan should have had another case to solve in Sycamore Gap.

One thing which made no sense at all was that Ryan's girlfriend was allowed to be in the incident room when the detectives and CSI were working on the case. No way would any civilian be allowed that freedom, and later be left alone with all the evidence while the police went chasing after a suspect. With so many pagans living close by it might be possible for Anna to be one of the members of the Circle, and she would be privy to all the evidence the police were collecting about them. It just didn't make sense.

I will not be buying the next book. The search for the Pagan leader has already gone on way too long.

Dark and Intense! DCI

What do the centuries old Hadrian’s Wall, Circle of Satanic worshipers, a serial killer, and DCI Maxwell Ryan have in common? Much more than one might think. LJ Ross has woven another dark, intense mystery involving Ryan and his colleague, Frank Phillips, as they attempt to unravel the interlocking puzzles of two murders: The skeleton of a young woman is found hidden within the old Roman wall; apparently it has been interred there for ten years. Soon thereafter, another young woman’s body is found in the same spot. The crimes seem to be related, but can they possibly be work of the same man?

It is the Summer Solstice. The Circle that was responsible for the deaths on Holy Island, Ryan’s previous case, has been disbanded, according to police officials. What Ryan and his team are seeing now has them wondering. My brain screamed, “Not again!” I enjoyed Holy Island a great deal, but I felt that a second book filled with secret members and sacrificial victims would be over the top. Much to my relief, most of the plot focused on other characters with motives even more malevolent, if that is possible. Ms. Ross has once again conjured up some wicked people; some are bad to the bone, while several others are quite skilled at masking their true selves, and they appear to function as normal human beings. One, in particular, had me completely fooled.

The good guys are more balanced in their personalities. They have genuine feelings, they have relationships, and they work hard, not for power and prestige, but because they want to make the world better and safer. As in Holy Island, Ryan and Anna continue their romance; Phillips, too, has been bitten by the love bug, and I couldn’t help rooting for him. There are some smatterings of humor along the way also.

It was easy to become immersed in this second book. I think I liked it even better than the first. Is everything resolved in the end? Regrettably, no. Questions are left unanswered and some crimes go unpunished. This leaves the door open for a third novel. I am not sure that I can handle more than three books in this vein, since for me, it really pushes the bounds of believability. Three and out for the Circle would be my preference. However, I do enjoy Ryan and Anna, Phillips, and Denise MacKenzie. I would like to see them investigating other sorts of crimes not related to the occult. Ms. Ross writes a suspense-filled plot and likable, as well as loath-able, characters, so I do look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

Stories should have a begining, a middle and an ending. This one had a tolerable begining, an interesting middle and then she just stopped. It may have been a tawdry attempt to interest readers in her next book. But for me I felt as though the contract between author and reader had been seriously broken and I would not invest time and effort in any of her other books.

About the Author
Avigail Azoulay has a Ph.D. in Linguistics from University of Paris VIII, France. Author of books and articles in theoretical linguistics and grammar, she participated in the translation into French of Noam Chomsky's Lectures on Government and Binding. Dr. Azoulay taught at several prestigious universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Arie Vicente received a PH.D. at the Pennsylvania State University. He is presently Associate Professor of Spanish at Texas A&M University- Commerce. He has published several books and articles on Spanish Literature and language, has participated in distance learning programs, and authored the materials for Cara a Cara, a Spanish Grammar software published by Heinle and Heinle.

I had purchased other books on Spanish Grammar but was never totally satisfied until I found this gem. It presents Spanish Grammar in a simple, comprehensive style with clear explanations throughout, and because of its layout it can be used as a reference book, making it a reliable companion that students of any level would be happy to possess as they proceed through their language study programme.
Nouns, adjectives, prepositions, - all the elements that form the backbone of a language are explained in depth by means of several examples and illustrations so that it becomes easy to absorb each concept effortlessly. `Por' and `para', the preterite and imperfect tenses plus other areas of difficulty are made clear.
The book also contains a list of about 34 fully conjugated verbs and a section that indicates which preposition should follow each verb as a complement, in addition to explaining whether the indicative or subjective form should be used, based on the context. Also included is an area that focuses on self-correction techniques that allow the student to trace and diagnose their own errors and correct them, gaining self- confidence and becoming more self-reliant in the process.

THIS BOOK IS WONDREFUL. I already speak a couple of languages, but this book is even magnificent for one who only speaks their native tongue. It simply focuses on grammar--not on useless vocabulary that you can pick up as the days go by, but the method of how words are laid down together! Wonderful!

Truly the Best

Where was this book when I was training in mental health all those years ago? It is difficult to know where to begin in reviewing this book and at the same time avoid hyperbole. But, really, this book is magnificent. Each section is laid out with a different aspect of mental illness. Each mental illness is taken through step by step so the practitioner is able to make a diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan. Each section has different presentation and learning forms (pictures, hint boxes and others) that allows the reader as much depth as needed for first reading or prompts for revision reading.

This book is not just for medical practitioners but all allied mental health workers - nurses, OT's, social workers and psychologists. It contains a wealth of knowledge that is simply (not simplistic as many of the points are quite complex) vital to the mental health worker.

During Dr Stringers recent Australian tour I was lucky enough to be able to speak with her about her pychiatric practice and to hear first-hand her interaction with a patient. She is a true professional with an enormity of caring for those she comes in contact with and a passion for her profession and teaching. I hope this is not the first and last contribution that Dr Stringer will make to the corpus of psychiatric knowledge - we wait for the next.

This is a wonderful text book aimed at medical students and junior psychiatry trainees. It is clearly set out and easy to follow. Although written by a diverse number of authors, the style is consistent throughout. The information is targeted at acquiring a good solid base of knowledge in psychiatry, but also at success in exams. There is fabulous art reproduced in each chapter specifically to help learn and memorise information, with notable quotes and references to film and literature allowing information to be put into the broad context of everyday life and experience. The book makes learning an interesting and memorable experience, especially for those who learn visually. I recommend it very highly to all aspiring doctors and psychiatrists.

Dr. Stringer and Co. have put together a wonderful book that easily outshines the normally dry textbooks on this subject. They have made it easy to understand, fascinating, and I dare say, entertaining. Highly recommended, even for the non-student!

Excellent Guide for Any Entrepreneur

Written from the experience of an entrepreneur who himself has experience many successes and many failures, this business man tells how to reach your business dreams in a very unusual way. Unlike the typical MBA platform of making a business plan and setting the goal of making more and more money, Kaleil stresses getting to know yourself as the vital first step. By exploring your strengths and weaknesses with his guidance you have thorough knowledge of the tools you need to overcome your pitfalls and to complement your strengths. By taking his peaks and valleys tour you gain the confidence that prevents your pitfalls from destroying your business or you. With this boxed kit, Kaleil instructs the business person with very simple lessons which are on two CD's and augmented with a more in-depth guidebook. After assuming the progress pose and listening to your inner self under his pleasant voice as guidance, you are equipped to write in your workbook to prepare quick outlines for ultimately making a successful business plan which fits you and your dreams. This Kit is worth its weight in gold!

As an aspiring entrepreneur, small-business owner, and avid student of business, I found the Entrepreneur's Success Kit to be much more practical and relevant to my business and own development than any other literature on entrepreneurship (or general business/management for that matter) I've come across. It's my belief that the Kit is possibly the best how-to start-up business book ever!

Not only is its in-a-box format compelling and easy to use, Kaleil Tuzman's style- throughout each page- is intelligent, concise, and right to the point. Furthermore, he is able to effectively simplify a wide array of complex topics in a way that's not only understandable, but actionable as well.

Additionally, the visuals are very well designed. Meanwhile, the advisers cards provide a great reference tool covering everything from creativity, to planning, to motivation; as well as start-up related topics including product or service development, business planning, team development, financing and financial management, sales and marketing, and more.

Finally, the CD's included provide an interactive tool to delve into the inner side of entrepreneurship (or the foundation of all entrepreneurial success).

This is a truly remarkable and inspiring product. My only regret is not having this product a few years ago in the early-stages of my entrepreneurial development.

I've now added a sixth book to my all-time favorite business books, namely Built to Last, Pour Your Heart into It, the Tipping Point, the E-Myth Revisited, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
