really love this book

I really, really love this book. I love the different shapes for coloring and I like how many colors there are. My favorite thing is never really knowing what I'll uncover until halfway through. It has a variety of images from geometric shapes to animals to architecture. Hopefully they come out with more of these books because if they're as good as the first, I'll be buying them all.

Old school color-by-number

I love that this is like old color-by-number, where you don't really have any idea what you're coloring until you start filling it in. If you want to know what the finished pictures are, you can look in the back. I will try to upload a picture, too. I like most of the designs, but I will color even the ones that I don't care for because it's fun. The pictures are printed one-sided on heavy paper. I've used Stablio 88's, Sharpie fine points, and colored pencils. Neither marker bled all the way through the paper, but I keep an extra sheet underneath anyway, just incase. The book itself is pretty big - about 14.5"x 10.5". Some may have trouble seeing the greyed numbers, but I haven't had too much trouble with it and I like that I can't see the numbers in the finished designs. I hope there will be more versions of Color Quest released in the near future.

Fun and intricate.

I love how challenging and intricate the designs are. If you love to color (especially with hidden pictures) and like to spend a long time on a page (like me) then you'll love this book. I don't like easy coloring pages so this is great. The numbers are small and you need to color under a light for best results. You get a lot of pages to color and while there is a key, I enjoy not knowing what I'm coloring until the picture reveals itself. I mostly use gel pens because each section is pretty small. But colored pencils also work on the pages with larger shapes. Enjoy!

This is the story Jodi Melamed tells in Represent and Destroy, portraying the postwar racial break as a transition from white supremacist modernity to a formally antiracist liberal capitalist modernity in which racial violence works normatively by policing representations of difference.

Following the institutionalization of literature as a privileged domain for Americans to get to know difference—to describe, teach, and situate themselves with respect to race—Melamed focuses on literary studies as a cultural technology for transmitting liberal racial orders. She examines official antiracism in the United States and finds that these were key to ratifying the country’s global ascendancy. She shows how racial liberalism, liberal multiculturalism, and neoliberal multiculturalism made racism appear to be disappearing, even as they incorporated the assumptions of global capitalism into accepted notions of racial equality.

Yet Represent and Destroy also recovers an anticapitalist “race radical” tradition that provides a materialist opposition to official antiracisms in the postwar United States—a literature that sounds out the violence of liberal racial orders, relinks racial inequality to material conditions, and compels desire for something better than U.S. multiculturalism.

Still love this series!

Woohoo!! Back on track with the story-line of the collectors and the council. This also opens up more of what is going on with the fey.

Misty is an awesome chick who owns her inner beast. I love her part in the rescue at the beginning. Hers is almost the sole POV of the book, I miss the mixed narrative. Don't get me wrong, she is a great voice for the story, but things are always richer when you have both leads POV. Samuel gets a few brief moments where we get his thoughts, but they are more teases than anything else.

The smexy time is hawt, seriously in a field standing up!! Good Lord! There are a couple scenes, making it nice and spicy. The details are great but no where near as abundant as other erotic reads. If you have been with the series from the beginning, you should be used to this by now.

I liked the overall plot and expect from the events at the end things are going to get a lot more interesting around the Crossroads. This really went more into what happens when a shifter from a collection goes back to his life. This is why I really wish we had more from Samuel in the narrative.

Still loving this series and all the unique shifters. Sure, many of the stories are similar, but they are always entertaining!

Misty and Samuel meet outside the Crossroads in a weird and unusual situation when her small shifter form rides his cougar form out of captivity and she leads him and other shifters to freedom and safety.

In true Crossroads style, they meet and fall in love quickly, after all everyone who enters the Crossroads is ready for love. I really liked these two, and their very different beast sides amused me. I also like that this story continued with a bit of action and intrigue after they returned mated to the normal world.

I definitely recommend this as another quick read in the Crossroads series. It has the same chemistry and quirky characters that I’ve come to expect from the series.

I just love this series. The author has been building up to something big concerning the kidnapping of shifters and this book adds one more element and clue to the readers. The characters are great and I love the Sugar Glider, Misty. Samuel who is a Mountain Lion and also Misty's mate seems a bit clueless sometimes but I think he is what one may call a tech geek and so he stays pretty focused on his business and not much else, that is until he is kidnapped and rescued by his mate. I love that the two just click right away and Misty, who also works for the Shifter Council when needed is a bit bad a**. I also loved how the author described Wolverine shifter's behavior and personalities. The book is short but sweet.

informative, if outdated

Be advised that this is an outdated edition but that the new one is still only available via the Amazon Australia node and try as I might, I wasn't able to access it. I purchased this one to use this book as a prep for enrolling in Lincoln University's viticulture program in New Zealand as they use the new edition. That being said, as long as you're cognizant of the age of the book and disregard the numbers peppering the pages you'll find this is an extremely informative and still relevant learning tool.

Custom SharePoint Solutions - the book teaches you how to do it, if you have some JS knowledge in advance

I am a blogger, writing reviews about IT books, IT articles and anything I find interesting. I have received the book "Custom SharePoint Solutions with HTML and JS" from the publisher Apress.Com for a review, upon a request of my site.


The book is rather easy to read, starting with using of SharePoint browser based tools. The first chapter is about setting environments, tools and etc. From special "payed" software you need SharePoint and Visual Studio Express (The Express version is free, if that matters). The later chapters cover building own SharePoint parts with jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, JS. The DOM model of JS explained in one chapter pretty well and the REST API is in the last one. The explanations are made with lots of screenshots and text. What I liked was the fact that almost all of the source code of the book was made available for anyone in the Apress.Com site and the step by step approach with explanations.
Prerequisite knowledge - you should understand HTML and JS to make the most of the book, it really describes the JS and HTML code, but not for an absolute beginner in the subject.

A small minus (which can possibly be not a minus at all) - Sometimes the screenshots go too much into detail, e.g. a picture for creating a new file in Visual Studio or copying a link location, but in general they are ok and quite informative.

Pretty much that is my review. The book is informative and well written, if you follow it you would be able to customize a SharePoint site. Thus, I would give it five stars.

A Good Purchase

This book helped me a lot in learning how to work with HTML & JS in SharePoint. I'd definitely recommend it, and I've not really seen any books out there that cover the same topic with specificity and relevance.

Introductory material, somewhat disappointing

This book is a very beginner friendly introduction to SharePoint customization using JavaScript, but not much more. I was hoping for something slightly more advanced. This is the book I wish I had read before simply traversing all the (free) material on TechNet concerning JSOM.

I wouldn't rightly call any of the actual examples you'll see in this book as real "custom solutions" for SharePoint, but rather a beginner's introduction to create simple pages for performing basic operations using JavaScript in SharePoint 2013.

I'm sorry to say I did not learn much new from this book after having already gone through all the free material from Microsoft, which is honestly quite good and has a lot of code examples.
